still got work to do.
sectionals was this past weekend.
first, friday's workout
rode my bike to the high school, threw around for a bit, put the boots on and then threw around some more. threw a lot of throws and attacked discs up in the air.
headed home and did sit-up and push-ups and stretched. had a delicious calzone for dinner. watched boondock saints.
couldn't sleep to save my life. soooo much shit stuck in my throat. got some dayquil which helped, but i spent most of the night hocking up phlegm on the couch. got to bed around 6 and got up around 9. ech
first game wasn't until 12.40, which was nice. arrived in time to warmup and do what was needed.
first team took half on us. pretty funny, but not at the same time. everything the put up, they caught. my throws were off. need to not throw quite as much the day before a tourney.
anyway, we recovered and won the game.
next game was kind of similar, except more in control and no real threat of losing.
lead to our game against boston. they score 8 in a row to take half. personally, i was lost. no flow, drops, dumb decisions.
coming out of half, we score, which was nice.
we ended up winning the second half 8-7. i made some plays, should have made a few more on d. i really need to start getting d's. it was awesome to see how well the team is capable of playing. how do we get there from the start?
day 2 we started out playing the old guys. the d gets a break, can't punch it in for another one. the o gives it back. the game was back and forth, with the old guys making some really, really, really bad calls, which of course came against me. had some fun swearing for a bit and then let it go. but they were bad calls. we pulled this game out on double game point and meet boston in the finals. final was 15-7. we put some scores together, but they were better on d and we couldn't get breaks. my legs felt awful this game and i wasn't able to finish the game.
somewhere in the game before i got kicked in the calf and changing directions and acccelerating had become a problem.
last game didn't matter so i sat.
with two weeks left, training needs to be concise and pinpointing the things i need to work on.
sprint 5-10 steps, sprint back in. simulate covering someone on a cut and beating them to the disc.
do this a lot. also, do at least a track workout this week and early next week.
sprint workout as well. vertical leap plyos will be in there.
probably going to stay away from any distance running, but some bike rides will be good.
two weeks to define what you have been working towards all season.
think about how to make the team better and how what you do can positively affect the outcome of each point, of each game.
you can provide the fire needed for this team to be great.
you are the hardest working person on the team. you have two weeks to prove it
i am great

hey-o
friday baby.
first payday.
first day before sectionals.
feeling excited and ready.
went to zoodisc practice yesterday and threw around and then got to play because someone got hurt. i was pretty pumped to get out there. i have wanted to do a light workout and some good throwing and both happened. did my situps and pushups, a few extra and more than normal.
i need to stretch at least twice today. don't be a bitch about it.
my legs have a tired feeling they get from not being stretched. i am hoping to get to ride my bike somewhere today and throw and run around for a good bit.
got new cleats! same vapors but for only $25 off ebay. good deal. on my two pairs of vapors i have only spent $55. not bad for a white kid from new hampshire. what?
sectionals is set to be a great tournament. personally, i will be drinking a lot of water today, stretching and working on my mental game. in the moment and uncontrollables. i have put in the time and the training up to the point. i need to be in the best spot mentally to take advantage of it.
rise up and lead like you have since you rejoined the team. you're energy may be the difference maker. at all times, realize what you do will impact the team.
leave your heart out there. you know how to do that better than anyone else.

peace club
took monday off. felt it was allright since my body didn't feel good during the weekend.
tuesday was just situps and pushups.
yesterday i got up and got moving again. rode down to the track with my new rear tube on my bike. didn't go flat, which was nice.
did 3 warmup laps. focus on stride length, knee drive, and stretching out the hammies.
active stretching
did vertical leap plyo routine. felt good. my legs had some good energy
finished with 6-7 short (30 yard) sprints. really focused on powerful and quick movements. did sprints starting from a standstill, sideways shuffle, and jog. felt allright.
hopped on my bike and headed home. had a date with the big e for the evening so i was not able to get my stretching or situps and pushups in. get those done today.
sectionals this weekend. should be a great time to play some good games and work on everything.
i am ready and i am prepared to be a positive force on the team. you don't have to do everything, just give 100% and you will succeed. this is your team, but you don't have to make every play for the team to be successful. have faith, but have fire.
i am ready to be great.

fight club
practice this past weekend
first, friday.
went for a quick ride to the high school track. flat tire on my training bike. not really happy about that, but hopefully i will be able to get a new tube today and i will be up and running again tonight.
threw around at the track for awhile and then got some dinner and watched the sox. wish they had won, but oh well.
saturday and sunday we had practice.
really need to get better at manufacturing excitement. fake it 'til you make it kind of thing.
practice went well. lot of hardwork and running around.
personally, not really very happy with quickness or defense. not getting d's and not really doing what i want to be able to do. frustrating but there is still time to get better. get faster and stronger.
not really in the mood to reflect right now, maybe later on today or for the next post.
but. fake it.
you are the rock. stay strong and lead by example, even when completely lost for words or actions. what you do will define the team.
don't be afraid to be great.

then i was shouting
hit the track again today. don't remember the last time i went to the track 3 days in a row. feel good. warm and loose.
did two 1.6 loops. first was warmup, second i pushed harder and stayed in the threshold for a good deal of the run.
stretched a little, took off the sweatpants and shirt and hopped on the track for the miracle mile.
really focused on taking longer, powerful strides to lengthen my legs out and keep them loose. felt good and strong. didn't feel too tired, but definitely happy when i was done.
hopped on the bike, visited the lady at the library (here now) and then headed home.
hoping to watch some t.v. and relax and get ready for this weekend.
gonna be the balls.
push, crave the pain. make the pain not want to be part of you. rise above.

...................stronger
don't know the rest of the words to the kanye song.
went for a great 27 minute run last friday. loosened me up. got to hit some trails and then did a good active warmup and some situps and pushups.
the stretching felt good
practice saturday was pretty tiring. didn't have great numbers, but thank my lucky stars we did have 7's. we learned a new defense and did a lot of sprinting. some gut checks on hard work. kind of pissed that a lot of guys couldn't handle 3 down and backs across the field without getting water.
sunday was lazy. went to a family barbeque and got to watch the pats trounce the jets. sweet.
monday i did my situps and pushups but didn't get a run in.
tuesday i hit the track
warmup and then active warmup
2 laps jog curves, accelerate into sprint on the straights.
2x200 with 45 seconds
2.5 minutes-31,32
2x200 with 45 seconds
4 minutes-33,33
4x200 with 90 seconds
32,33,34,31
5x100
warmdown
situps, pushups
stretch.
hard workout to push through. didn't feel particularly great during or right after. but later on felt great.
wednesday, more track
warmup and active warmup
12x20m with 20 seconds
2 min.
12x40 with 30 seconds
3 min.
6x60 with 45 seconds
4 min.
5x80 with 60 seconds
cool down.
did not feel fast at all. really pushed through each one. working on quick feet, powerful strides and using my entire body. groins felt a little weak and knees weren't too happy.
made it through and that was good.
biked home. rested for a little bit.
situps and then stretch.
we'll see what today holds for me. possibly back at the track. not sure but it will be good to stay loose.
big practice this weekend.
you can show them better than you can tell them.
work harder.
you are the hardest working person on new noise.

cubical gangsta
didn't go running yesterday. wanted to, but put my new bike together, rode down to the pond to show it off and then ended up throwing around for awhile. good to move a bit.
did my situps, skipped pushups and stretched a little bit.
all around, a rather lackluster effort. really need to loosen up today to be ready for practice tomorrow. should be a good one.
not really loving the drive out to boston, but you gots to do what you gots to do.
sectionals soon.
...........be great.

under my um-ber-ella, eh eh eh
back at it.
work is going well. getting my feet wet this week and next week is going to be the real start of the year for me. i think i am ready, there is going to be a lot of learning on my part.
hopefully all the parts come in for my new bike today. getting a wheel, gots to get a chain, and a new handlebar. that will put the price of this bike at $70. not bad. frame swapped with a friend. came with stem, fork, and crank. sick crank. added pedals, new handlebar, front wheel, and rear wheel. one present to myself if i keep riding as much as i am will be a new set of wheels and new crank. give it some time.
ultimate.
did a morning track workout monday. hurt pretty bad, didn't make it as far as i wanted to.
4x200 30,31,31,30
4x200 33,32,34,31
called it a day after that. felt pretty gassed and had to leave.
tuesday i went for a 12.5 mile bike ride. love my fixie. felt really good on the hills, pushed myself.
body felt great wednesday after the ride. went to the track for some speed work
10x20 with 20 sec. in between 2 min. rest
10x40 with 30 sec. 3 min. rest
6x60 with 45 sec. 4 min. rest
5x80 with 60 sec.
really worked on getting a lot of steps in, keeping my feet quick and legs moving throughout entire sprint. also, staying on my toes throughout.
biked home, ate dinner, got my ass kicked in skip-bo by my favorite lady. owned.
stretched, skipped sit-ups and pushups. back at the p-up and s-ups today.
running out of time to work hard. stay at it and keep motivated. you are the hardest working player on the team. act like it. work like it. sweat like it. play like it.
don't need to talk, your play will let people know how hard you work.
love it live
