john henry

still got work to do.

sectionals was this past weekend.

first, friday's workout

rode my bike to the high school, threw around for a bit, put the boots on and then threw around some more. threw a lot of throws and attacked discs up in the air.

headed home and did sit-up and push-ups and stretched. had a delicious calzone for dinner. watched boondock saints.

couldn't sleep to save my life. soooo much shit stuck in my throat. got some dayquil which helped, but i spent most of the night hocking up phlegm on the couch. got to bed around 6 and got up around 9. ech

first game wasn't until 12.40, which was nice. arrived in time to warmup and do what was needed.

first team took half on us. pretty funny, but not at the same time. everything the put up, they caught. my throws were off. need to not throw quite as much the day before a tourney.

anyway, we recovered and won the game.

next game was kind of similar, except more in control and no real threat of losing.

lead to our game against boston. they score 8 in a row to take half. personally, i was lost. no flow, drops, dumb decisions.

coming out of half, we score, which was nice.

we ended up winning the second half 8-7. i made some plays, should have made a few more on d. i really need to start getting d's. it was awesome to see how well the team is capable of playing. how do we get there from the start?

day 2 we started out playing the old guys. the d gets a break, can't punch it in for another one. the o gives it back. the game was back and forth, with the old guys making some really, really, really bad calls, which of course came against me. had some fun swearing for a bit and then let it go. but they were bad calls. we pulled this game out on double game point and meet boston in the finals. final was 15-7. we put some scores together, but they were better on d and we couldn't get breaks. my legs felt awful this game and i wasn't able to finish the game.

somewhere in the game before i got kicked in the calf and changing directions and acccelerating had become a problem.

last game didn't matter so i sat.

with two weeks left, training needs to be concise and pinpointing the things i need to work on.

sprint 5-10 steps, sprint back in. simulate covering someone on a cut and beating them to the disc.

do this a lot. also, do at least a track workout this week and early next week.

sprint workout as well. vertical leap plyos will be in there.

probably going to stay away from any distance running, but some bike rides will be good.

two weeks to define what you have been working towards all season.

think about how to make the team better and how what you do can positively affect the outcome of each point, of each game.

you can provide the fire needed for this team to be great.

you are the hardest working person on the team. you have two weeks to prove it

i am great
