got a bike. i got a new bike, fixed gear. i love it. i rode it for a few days, went to adjust the handlebars, found out the stem bolt is stripped to hell. unfortunately, it's a fancy italian stem and hasn't been produced in 10 years. hoping to find a replacement bolt somehow. if not, hacksaw the fork or stem off. should be interesting. oh yeah , bought a hacksaw on ebay. sweet.
to training.
i really hope i get my bike fixed soon, because i was having a blast riding it. took it for 3 rides, each on longer than the previous. first day, only about 7-8 miles. next ride was 13 miles. last one was from belchertown into amherst, ran a few errands, then headed back. took about 1/2 hour each way. total ride was right around 20 miles. felt awesome. still getting used to road tires and not being able to stop pedaling.
running has been tough. i have been focusing on tempo runs and they have been hard to push through. my hamstring is still convinced it is hurt, i keep telling it otherwise. bites at me when i am running, but i can push through it. back to doing situps, which is good. my back is feeling better.
weighed myself. 156 pounds. keep it right there, tighten up my body a little bit more.
still eating well. need to stay focused on that. more fruits and vegetables.
running my first track workout of the year tonight. i am excited. 3 sets of 3x400. 2 minutes between each 400, 3 minutes between sets. work hard, push to work harder than anyone else has. you will be faster that way. stay fast.
your mind may say no, but i guarantee you your body can go on.
be the worker you want your teammates to be.
and then work harder
