solid.
april was a tough month to stay on track. i ended up taking about 15 days off total, which i am not happy about. on the plus side, i did need to give my hamstring some time to rest and april was a good time to take it easy a little bit. i am back in full swing now.

my team is doing very well. they continue to impress me and also drive me nuts. very capable of playing at a high level all of the time, but sometimes find it difficult to get up to game speed. i will try and mix up the warm-up routine a little bit and also be a little more active.
on a personal level, my training is moving along. i can definitely feel that i am faster and even a little bit quicker off a stop. i have lost about 10 lbs. and will continue to not drink carbonated shtuff.
i will continue to do sprints at least every other day, along with squat jumps. i am going to start building more plyo stuff into my routines. that will help strengthen muscles to support my hamstring and quad.
i am not going to post about everything i have done since my last post, so i will start with monday. monday i rested, tuesday i rested. on wednesday, it was time to get back at it, convince my hamstring that it is not hurt. i went for a short, 20 minute tempo run on some trails. did a little dynamic stretching. did 3x10 squat jumps. practice started and i cleated up and played with the team. i just need to start playing more, get my game legs back. just a little rusty, no excuses.
after practice, i ran sprints. 5 of about 40 yards. 5 of 15 yards, turn and go back. 3 suicide style with the same distances. out 15, back, out 40, back. felt good and could start to feel the threshold.
stretched after and then went home and enjoyed the red sox for the evening.
yesterday had a scrimmage. very tough to motivate to go running once i got home, but i did. about a 30 minute run in the woods, good pace, nothing too quick, pushed on the hills. really wanted to make it a run to keep the muscles warm and stretch them out. felt good, a little tired at times, but felt good.
did a few dynamic stretching things and then stretched.
i have decided to wrap my hamstring after each workout and keep it on for a couple hours. it feels good after i take the wrap off and while it is on. the sleeve i bought doesn't seem to do it, so i am just going to play with nothing on it and then make sure to wrap it after.
this is a pivotal point in my training. i can take off from here if i choose and make myself the player i want to be.
i can do it
