seeing red

gym show. good time.

the treadmill went a lot better than expected. ran for 25 minutes. changed speeds. did a good warmup, cranked it up for a bit, then cooled down. it was a solid run. my right foot is not feeling good. feels like the buildup on the top of my foot is pulling tendons or muscles too tight across my foot. i am going to go get it checked out sometime next week.

getting off the treadmill was pretty weird. kind of like getting off a trampoline and trying to jump. so i "glided" around the gym for a few minutes.

went upstairs and stretched and then did my situps and pushups.
2x17 crunches
2x15 tacos
2x5 hesitate pushups
3 pullups on the i-beam

3x8 of dumbell incline press
3x10 calf raise with 15 lbs. in the same hand as the foot being raised. (right calf, right hand)

rest

5 minutes traversing on the wall
4 climbs on the wall, about 40 minutes.

went home. recovery drink (powder) and dinner.

the food log starts on saturday, so i will be checking that with my workouts. don't really want to type the food stuff, keep that in a seperate journal.

still not feeling great. got a cough still. oh well.

starting to get pumped about going to the gym and working out. still feel like an idiot because i don't have a great idea of what i am doing.

keep working. let's be sweet.

children with pockets of money to spend

stupid kids and their songs during music class.

so, joined a gym. rock climbing wall, all the weight and cardio stuff. it should be a lot of fun. first time i have ever joined a gym.

december 1st will mark the day i am going to start to think about officially getting back into shape. i am going to start keeping a food diary and also start back up with regular posts that will detail my workouts, how my body feels, how it is responding or not responding to the workouts, and an attempt to get me pumped up for ultimate again. the last part shouldn't be too hard, but it can't hurt to get more excited.

horn!

everything's gonna be allright

alicia keys is a baller. recognize.

so, it's been about a month and a week since regionals.

physically, i have gained only a few pounds, lost about 3% body muscle to fat. overall, very happy with that. work has been weird. i really need to dedicate myself to it, but i don't feel it. it is a weird kind of lazy. not sure how to diagnose it. i don't hate my job, but i don't love it. oh well, that's life. might be a little bit better if it didn't happen in a basement.

started hydrating again and already i can't wait to give it up again. weird.

re-reading some past posts, i am proud of what i did last year. i am really looking forward to training a little bit different/better for next year. i am not sure what i am doing for ultimate next year. heard of some rumblings but i have not really started thinking about that. i already miss the training and playing.

i am thinking about training already, and i am not ready to start again yet. it is going to be tough to match what i did last year, but i know i will be ready to it.

i want to play. i hate not playing ultimate.

also, super pumped to coach.

ultimate. jesus christ, it's not even a real sport.

well done

as the title indicates, well done.

saturday went very well. won our first game with no problems. the d came out, got some breaks and we never looked back. 15-3

this setup a huge game against chuckwagon. stayed tight for most of the first half. in the second half they had a few miscues and the d capitalized and we hung on to win 15-9. i actually had a force side handblock in this game. weird.

game 3 against goat. we came out and got a break to start the game, i think. we at least had a d. our offense looked scared and unwilling to work hard to get open. our d was getting some turns and then also not cutting hard to get the disc. our deep game wasn't great and that put a lot of pressure to come underneath and move the disc that way. not sure if that was something our cutters were willing to do. anyway, the game was not really close at all. 15-7

this set up a game with redtide on sunday morning. they came out ready and we did not. before we know it, it's 8-3. halftime was brief and loud. i did my best to rally people up and get them fired up. we scored out of half and then our d began to play d. slowly we crawled back in it and then we were up 12-11. we received the disc at 14-13, we are up. we work it down against there zone, a lot of handler movement. phil looks at me deep, smiles, fakes, still smiling puts a gorgeous io/flattening out backhand into the endzone. goal, game. i spike the disc, take my shirt off and run around the field. felt great.

personally, i am very happy with my playing this past weekend. the work i put in helped me to play an assload of points and feel good for each of those points. i made good decisions, for the most part, and played within my means.

good season, great ending.

without limits

here it is. regionals. all the work, sacrifice, sweat, pain, and time, all rolled into 2 days of check cashing.

physically, i don't think i have ever been more prepared. i believe i am faster, stronger, and in better shape than i have ever been.

mentally, i am doing the right things to put me in a good place. i am visualizing what i want to happen. i am recognizing there is nothing we can do about uncontrollables. i know that a positive attitude all weekend, no matter what, is what is going to help our team to be the most successful it can be.

looking back, the training has been awesome. going out to the track, riding my bike, practice, trying-out, really diving deep into myself. i have never worked so hard to reach a goal, fail at that goal, and then work harder to reach a new goal.

is there more i could have done, yes. will i do more next year? yes. but i am at a place that i have never been before.

i have never pushed myself like a have the 10 months. 10 months!! this all started on january 1st, when i started keeping track of my workouts. there have been high points, there have been low points, but after this weekend, i know that i have done something i have never done before. i have taken huge chances and set incredible goals. i still have the opportunity to reach these goals, but the most important one has surfaced on its own. i can push myself harder than i thought i could. i know a new threshold that i am able to be at and i can push that even farther.

i am proud of you. i am proud of me. my work is far from done, but i know that i can do it, whatever "it" turns out to be.

go out there and have some f-in fun this weekend. be you.

your team will follow you, through thick and thin. be the rock.

hop on my back boys, i am about to take you for a hell of a ride.

new noise on 3

shipping up to devens

just thinking about this weekend, i start getting juiced up. my stomach starts turning a little and i can feel the adrenaline start to kick in.

this weekend is your hard-work coming out party. people will see a blue collar side of you they never thought possible. each throw will have a great mark on it. each catch will make the receiver nervous. all of your cuts will be done with such energy the defender won't want to guard you. my throws will be calculated, cool, and under control. i will be a rock.

i will be the player i want everyone around me to be.

my heart will be on both sleeves. there will be nothing left at the end of each game, but there will be a full tank at the start of the next.

i will be the living proof of hard work pays off.

it is time to put on display the work you have done.

remember.

you are not the best player on the field.

remember.

anyone can get open on you if you are not giving 100%.

remember.

dictate and attack.

remember.

take this team on your back, climb a mountain, and claim what you have worked so hard for and nothing will stop you.

success will be determined by the amount of effort you put in.

remember.

at the end of this tournament, cry. take some time to meditate before saturday's game. you and brent have a quick talk.

there are no expectations, just reactions for this weekend.

define

define.

she made no indications of slowing

been a few days since a post.

practice last weekend was allright. we were missing some people, but we ended having some fun and good team stuff.

practicing with zoo this week, keep loose and on the field. game stuff.

on defense, dictate and then beat them in or out. take some chances and have confidence in your speed. also, use your speed and don't be lazy.

heading to practice now and we shall see how it goes.

big weekend coming up, should be a f-in blast.
